About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how BluWebMedia IT Services Pvt. Ltd. ("BluWebMedia", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.bluwebmedia.co.in, including our blog, Blu Ocean. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and small scripts, can store or read information on your device in the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
How we use them
We group the technologies we use into two categories:
- Strictly necessary: needed for the site to work or to provide something you asked for. They are always on, because the site cannot work properly without them. They are not used for tracking.
- Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. They are off until you agree, and you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.
The technologies we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| bwm_consent | BluWebMedia | Remembers your cookie choices and the consent ID | 12 months if you accept, 6 months if you reject | Strictly necessary |
| bwm-theme (local storage) | BluWebMedia | Remembers your light or dark theme choice | Until you clear it | Strictly necessary |
| reCAPTCHA cookies and browser storage (for example _GRECAPTCHA, rc::a), set by Google when the security check runs | Google LLC | Protects our forms against spam and automated abuse | Set and controlled by Google; see Google's privacy policy | Strictly necessary (security), loaded on pages with a form |
| _ga | Google LLC (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors | Up to 2 years as set by Google; most browsers limit it to 400 days (about 13 months) | Analytics |
| _ga_PPKKG8M5DG | Google LLC (Google Analytics) | Keeps the session state | Up to 2 years as set by Google; most browsers limit it to 400 days (about 13 months) | Analytics |
| _tccl_visitor | GoDaddy (Real User Metrics) | Distinguishes visitors to measure page-load speed | 1 year | Analytics |
| _tccl_visit | GoDaddy (Real User Metrics) | Groups page views of one visit | 30 minutes | Analytics |
| _scc_session | GoDaddy (Real User Metrics) | Measures the current session | 20 minutes | Analytics |
| comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, comment_author_url_* | BluWebMedia (blog) | Remember your name, email and website for comments, only if you tick the box when commenting | About 11 months (347 days) | Strictly necessary (set at your request) |
| wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | BluWebMedia (blog) | Sign-in to the blog's admin area, only for our staff | Session, or 14 days if "Remember me" is ticked | Strictly necessary |
GoDaddy's measurement scripts are loaded from img1.wsimg.com and send timing data to csp.secureserver.net. They start from the next page you open after you accept.
Your choices
- When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Nothing in the Analytics category runs until you click "Accept all" or switch it on under "Customize".
- "Reject non-essential" is as easy as "Accept all", and the site works fully either way.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw, analytics stops and we delete its cookies from your browser.
- We ask you again after 12 months if you accepted, after 6 months if you rejected, or sooner if this policy changes.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary ones may stop some features from working.
Records of your choice
To show that we asked for and respected your choice, we keep a record on our server: a random consent ID, the date and time, your choices and the version of this policy you saw. The record does not contain your name, email or IP address. We keep it for 2 years and then delete it.
Third parties and transfers
Google and GoDaddy process the data from their technologies under their own privacy terms, and may process it outside India, including in the United States. See Google's privacy policy and GoDaddy's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If we change the technologies we use, we update this policy and the date above, and ask for your choice again where needed.
Contact and complaints
Questions about cookies or your data: [Placeholder]. You can also contact our Grievance Officer (see our Privacy Policy) and, if you are not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, if you are in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.
